New Mardi Gras is the organisation that runs the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras as well as Sleaze Ball and a number of other events throughout the year.
Our general objective is to raise the visibility of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer communities. We do that in many ways but the most notable of these is the Mardi Gras Parade. It's an event with an interesting history so we encourage you to take a look at our history section.
Our chief sources of funds are our two major parties - Mardi Gras Party and Sleaze Ball - and sponsorship. These allow us to put on the Parade and to cover the costs of other events such as Fair Day.
